Redd&Whyte, the specialist provider of novel liquid handling technology, was awarded Best New Company at the inaugural Life Science Awards, on 29 June in Hamburg, Germany, preceding the first European Lab Automation (ELA) conference and exhibition. The awards, which were presented by Michael Mosley, BBC science presenter and journalist, included prizes for 7 different categories and were given to life science companies from around the world.
Redd&Whyte won the Best New Company category, against nominations that included the German developer of RNAi-based tools, Riboxx, and the Beijing biotechnology company, BeiGene. The judging panel consisted of some of the most pre-eminent names in the worldwide life science industry, including leaders of academic and corporate institutions.
“We were delighted to receive this award at such a prestigious event,” said Roger Poole, Managing Director of Redd&Whyte. “We came to the first European Lab Automation in order to demonstrate our latest product, the Preddator S4, to life scientists across Europe. We’re extremely honoured to come home with ELA’s Best New Company Award.”
Redd&Whyte’s award comes just seven months after winning one of The Scientist’s Top 10 Innovations 2010 for the groundbreaking Preddator liquid handling technology.
